This is another that took me a long time to find. Blackhawk offered the 7/16 drive as an alternative to having a 3/8 set and a 1/2 set. There were two versions of the ratchet the geared one here - a so called baldie and a gearless that I do not have. If you have one or other 7/16 stuff please post it up.

I was so happy when I finally got one I was beside myself. The handle has two positions it threads on one of two sets of threads. One that puts the handle in the short orientation intended for the small socket 3/8 drive range and one where the handle is longer for the 1/2 drive range. A pretty clever solution.

Handle in the extended position.

Here is a family comparison of three Blackhawk baldies - 3/8, 7/16 and 1/2.
Over the last 40 years I have prowled through numerous pawn shops, flea markets, antique shops, garage sales, auctions and anyplace else I could find hawking used tools. I have passed on many unusual and I suppose rare ratchets in particular that while possibly rare, I just did not like. I don't recall ever passing on a Blackhawk baldie, but I would like to think I would have snagged it if would have encountered one.
You have some very admirable unique and possibly even odd tools that you have acquired and shared pictures of through the years Steve. I always look forward to seeing pictures of tools you have bought. You do seem to have a knack for finding what seem elusive/rare tools to me.
Very cool ratchets that I always appreciate seeing, I'm certainly never going to see them elsewhere.
Blackhawk is one of those companies who like Snapon once made some amazingly cool things that will just never be made again.
A 19nd nuggies set is on my bucket list in general, but especially the 24991 ratchet itself.
I don't have a lot of opportunities or places near me to hunt for tools in person so I'm kind of lineted mostly to Ebay, and the only piece from a 19nd nuggies set I've ever seen in almost 10 years of looking is the 24995 " grip handle " spinner handle.
I thought that at least the ratchet would show up but it hasn't, rarely any pre NB Blackhawk tools show up on Ebay aside from a lone wrench or two here and there.
I bought a Alden ratchet a few years back because it reminded me of these Blackhawks, but it's a bit rough has extremely high backdrag and is just generally not up to the level of quality.
Thanks for the kind words Herb. I have gotten very lucky in acquiring tools of interest although it's a game I've had to learn patience pays.
I'm surprised how much of the Nuggies stuff there are - even the sets in the torpedo case but they are pricey.
Anything related to Nuggets, or the torpedo cases has been insanely high for years!

Isn't that the truth. Takes some deep pockets for any of it anymore.
For those who don't know this is the torpedo case. Not mine and not my pic.

They were a novel item to be sure.
