Title: Lifting big forklifts.
Post by: Muddy on Mar 22, 2025, 08:23 PM
Figured you guys would like to see how we lift the big forklifts to work on them. These lifts are built to lift semis. Each one can lift 16,000 lb capacity. The stands are rated at 10,000 lbs a piece.

That is very cool. I bet not cheap though.

Thanks for posting that.

I seem to recall one of the heavier shops I worked in had a couple of massive yard lift trucks. I seem to recall they would use one of those to lift the inside hard tire lift trucks sliding the tines in from the side, then using massive jack stands to hold the lift trucks. Or, another method I have seen is to lift first one end, then the other of trucks with the heavy shop bridge crane.

Still great to see this!

Good use of the lift. First I ever saw that style was in a CSX rail shop for lifting locomotives in the 90's. They were all 3 phase.

That's pretty neat Tim. Always wondered how those compact heavy machines were serviced with a lift.
