Title: Has anyone made a saddle extension for a floor jack?
Post by: AbiggerGarage on Jul 26, 2025, 12:31 PM
My nephew had a Jeep, that he put larger wheels and tires on when he bought it.  The factory jack doesn't lift it high enough and he put a floor jack.  Thinking about trying to make an extender for it.

Anyone done such a thing?

If you have a lathe and a welder, then a good  source for stock is a CV joint axle. Machine one end to fit into the existing lift arm hole where the OEM saddle was attached, and weld an appropriate plate to the other end to act as the replacement saddle.

Alternatively, any axle with an attached hub could be cut to length as a saddle extension and machines to fit the existing saddle hole in the lift arm.
