Remember these? They're kind of rare these days.

BTW -- Those pinstripes on the front lid were factory painted by hand. No decals or plastic striping involved.

So here we go! This is a early 1980's 33 inch "Sears Best" Craftsman tool box that I believe was manufactured by Waterloo. At the time it was the biggest unit that Sears sold, and I bought it specifically for the rubber sealed front lid that protected the chest drawers from dirt and dust. This box was moved around the world over the next two years, and I wanted good protection for my fine measuring tools and quality instruments. My job at the time allowed for one tool box to be moved at company expense, so I had to sell my other 33" 1970's MAC tool box that was in pristine shape. I still regret that sale, but the Sears box offered better protection.

Considering all the moves and the mileage, it's still in fairly good condition.

Today it houses measuring tools, duplicates, electronic components, and equipment that's only used a few time a year.

Top is rarely used 3/4" drive and a new set of Craftsman 1/2" drive module duplicates.

Drawers are instruments and odds 'n ends along with several other Craftsman 3/8" drive and 1/4" socket modules and Craftsman Pro wrench modules

Bottom drawers house specialty hardware fasteners, electrical tools and larger air tools for body work.

Lots of electronic repair components all organized in bins -- capacitors, resistors,

A good box that's stood the test for over 40 years. This is what Sears Craftsman used to represent.

Way before your time Tim. If you can imagine that this was the biggest combo box set that Sears sold in the early 1980's. I think I paid around $600 for that combo. Needless to say, they didn't sell many of them at that price at the time.

That was a good chunk of money back then. Solid investment though.
