I don't have scrap metal but do have a 3d printer.  Gave my niece a Sears set (plus an Armstrong 16x18mm) DOE metric wrench set.  I know at one of the locations I have a larger SAE set that she will end up with. (mostly Craftsman)
So I printed up two, 8 item wrench holders, one in red, one in blue.  Also gave her a punch and chisel set from a neighbors garage sale (1/16 needs cleaned up or replaced) that was a Craftsman set towards the end.

Then found out today that they came out with (preorder) the multicolor filament kit for my 3d printer.  Ordered that and plan on printing off some socket holders, soon (should arrive around fathers day).

Looked at one of those metal funnel holders that drips into a cup at the bottom.  Decided I have enough scrap wood to make one an will either add a long pipe to it (old timers used to keep a bit of oil in a five gallon bucket for shovels, etc. to keep from rusting), or print a disposal cup.
Have a ton of hardwood shorts, that I have stashed and now wonder why.

Metal bail handle trays is always my first choice. Following that the magnetic Problem Solver plastic ones with individual size cavities (big space wasters) set boxes for some. I avoid  the rails with spring clips, but do have a couple of them, never been a fan of those.
Better hold onto something boys cause i'm fixin ta stand on it!
