Quote from: Muddy on Apr 25, 2026, 07:01 PMLast night after work I made some new brake lines for my pickup.

Two that ran from the master cylinder to the ABS block on my truck were getting pretty rusted. Soni decided to replace them.

After removing the old ones I learned that they are ISO or bubble flare and I only have a double flare SAE tool.

So i ran to Advance Auto and bought the cheap bubble flare kit they had on the shelf. The first flare I did, didn't look right so I tried again and the pin in the die broke off in the line. Guess that why it was cheap

Luckily I search you tube and you can make a bubble flare with a double flare tool.

I got them in and finished around 10 last night. So I took it around the block and it seemed to still have air in the line. So this morning I had my son help me bleed it out.

Next I got to see why the LR caliper seems to be sticking. Owning old vehicles is fun....

It's always something. LOL
