Have had this car for many years. Decided I had to finish it before I die :) 3 years ago I started fixing the usual rust spots in a Mustang. The floor was the biggest issue. I had floor pans I ordered back in 2011 :) , some issues in firewall,  and in cowl. thankfully sub frames were all ok as was torque box. Outside was already done, NOS rear quarters, one NOS front fender and aftermarket door skins. Big block Mustangs were rode hard and but away wet. I'm now putting motor back in, exhaust manifold gaskets have been kicking my ass. Summitt sent wrong ones, Napa sent wrong ones, O'reilly sent wrong ones. Hopefully tomorrow I get right ones from O'reilly. Once the exhaust manifolds are one I can get little stuff done and get it out of shop and put a few miles on before winter hits hard.

Got it all put back together, did a 10 mile ride. Oil pressure OK, water temp OK, E brake needs adjustment, clutch needs adjustment. Passenger side window needs new regulator, window falls down, I have a new reg for it but thats a winter project. Wedge it  closed for now.I replaced all the guages with Autometer except fuel gauge. Going to order one, another winter project. I already did an American Autowire kit, 1000 bucks  :o great kit every wire is marked every couple inches. Hardest thing was F crimps. When you see whats in it, its pretty intimidating and I'm a licensed electrician  ;D
Back in the shop to make the adjustments, hopefully I get it out further this weekend.

few pics, some hacked tunnel for a universal shifter, I fixed it as I got correct Hurst shifter. Had to fix both side of fire wall on top where it welds to cowl. The piece is curved, came out ok. Whats under the cowl after drilling over 100 spot welds

Good work there -- nothing welds better than vintage steel.

some more pics, ford didn't paint any more than they had to back then, cowl had no paint on it from factory. I painted with epoxy primer and then single stage urethane, color is Wimbledon white. Never painted a car before and  you can tell :) Some places a plug welded, some places are butt welded. I'm not building anything but a driver. I have way too much money in a car thats only saving grace is its a factory S code 390fe. I will say I have Masters series Silver paint, covered by urethane AG111 on all parts not visible. Supposedly the best paint made for automotive restoration. Its become so popular its almost impossible to get. Glad I got it before some youtube guy did a video on it

As found  mine was similar, but working on it on and off and driving it some in between kept it in shape. mechanically I've done a ton of crap on it. Street or track front end, Total control products power rack and pinion. TCP sub frame connectors. New rear springs and Cal Trac under ride traction bars. Like the title says, giant money pit :) :D

Just ordered a new front parking brake cable,, the one from interior handle to undercar. Cable got frayed some how??  At least it was only 26 bucks. I'll highly recommend Kentucky Mustang for parts. I've used them all but Kentucky is the best
