Picked up this SAE tap and die set. Any idea on vintage?

https://postimages.org

I use this one. Not as whizbang fancy as the photobucket or some of the others but it is free though they do spin by with the paid version solictation on occasion trying to get a guy to bite.

The pawn shop scene is pathetic anymore. I used to be able to find quality tool brands at decent prices. Shop staff would wheel and deal to make a sale happen. Now I see mostly hobo freight tools at hobo freight prices and shop staff that are only interested in selling items for what they are priced at. Which makes me ask myself why am I even in here? If the item tag is almost unreadable since it's been on the shelf so long it's faded, I would think the shop owner would want to move it along.......guess not.

I have been helping my son in finding decent tools for his new (my old) box. I was shocked how much extra I had in boxes squirreled away. We found an antique store with a vendor that's selling good USA made stuff, we take lists of what is needed and dig through the piles (and I mean piles) of wrenches, sockets, and pliers etc. The only way I find to get the good stuff now is to keep a list of what is needed and find it piece by piece.

I embed my images here and most of the other sites I post to I do the same (most modern forum software seems to accommodate that now). Mostly because the image becomes a permanent part of the post and is not subject to the whims of a third party host. For me it's easier as well to post them here although admittedly it does need a learning curve.

I left PB a long time ago and have not really found a substitute. I hope someone will post one they have found.

I've been a subscriber to Photobucket for over 20 years. And lived through them stop hosting videos, losing images, and locking accounts to enforce extreme fees.. This new Groupy feature, that no sane user asked for, is the worst idea yet! It's time to move on....

What is the best site for hot-linking for forums such as Garage Hangout?
