Reliable GFCI Receptacles?

I have had some issues with GFCI receptacles failing within a short time.

They will trip and refuse to reset. The ones with a power LED will display a red LED when they die.

I am a firm believer in proper grounding (long story) but I can't be buying these things every 6 months when they fail.

All of the failures have been in my sheds or my greenhouse (definitely damp locations here in Nor Cal in the rainy season).

Somebody told me I need to buy GFCI receptacles rated for damp locations. It seems that all GFCI receptacles should be rated for damp locations (kitchens, bathrooms, outdoor decks, etc.)

Am i missing something?
