I've had this vise for almost 22 years. Didn't expect it to last a year, but surprisingly it's held up well.

After talking to some folks and looking around the net I found good reviews of this 5" Chinese Wilton "knock-off" from HF. Swivel base, swivel jaws and replaceable steel (not cast) "V" jaws -- that was impressive

It was a good buy at around $50, and I must say that I have been very satisfied with this vise. It filled the need as my primary vise for a few weeks, but then I found that it made a wonderful portable vise. It's not permanently mounted to any bench, and I only secure it with "C" clamps. It's light enough to carry around the shop, and it makes a great setup clamped to a Workmate to hold things as they are cleaned, welded, or assembled temporarily around the house or yard. Cleaning especially has been great since I can do that filthy work outside the shop.

It's a good product -- not a Wilton, but definitely better than anything they manufactured just five years ago.

i have one as well. i like it but i would only give it a pass.

it works well because of its ability to rotate in several axis and has multiple jaw types but the screw that holds the jaws from rotating stripped out and the locking swivel is a bit week. it could use some modification. all said, it is quite versatile . maybe i just used it a bit to roughly.
from the ashes shall rise a phoenix.
