Well I finally bought one. I grabbed a green one from HF.

I had seen the Kobalt ones at Lowe's. Someone before me had ripped the box open. So ingot to test the drawers. They were friction slides and just felt cheap. I believe they were more for decoration (I know they all really are) then aything.

The HF was a lot heavier built and has ball bearings drawers that function pretty nicely just like their real boxes.

I put some of my hobby tools inside. I may just grab another one next time I'm at HF

From the twisted mind of the Mudman!

I don't make it into HF enough to get one of their mini boxes. Or at least when I went looking last year none were available within 100 miles or more of me  at the time, so I settled on the Lowe's version. Later, I added their 3 drawer mid box. This year when Walmart jumped into the game I added a base cabinet that has two doors split and a shelf in the middle that will hold the top and mid boxes. All three stacked total something around 20" approximately.

I like the green color you bought.
Better hold onto something boys cause i'm fixin ta stand on it!

My dad bought that one and I think he has it next to his recliner with some stuff in it.
I have a hammer addiction,  and a 1/4 ratchet addiction, and a pry bar addiction,  and a screwdriver addiction, and well I just have an addiction to hand tools in general.

Lowe's was actually the 1st major retailer to offer one.
I think it's kind of the worst version, but only because it got a lot of traction and everybody else learned from it's flaws.
I believe the lastest version of the HF has drawers that open much further which would certainly be a major improvement.
I am interested to see what the 3 drawer kobalt has to offer and if it's anything I could find more practical than my 2 drawer kobalt.
