Craftsman-Pro Double Box Ends -- Those were the days!

Back when Sears was a "Player" in the tool business.

I just finished installing a new "U" Joint in my daily driver and I realized something. Unless it's a ratchet wrench, I rarely reach for a combo wrench. I guess it's a "habit" thing. Because back in the day when I was a professional wrench most toolkits only included open and box-end wrenches, so I guess I got into a open and box-end mindset. To replace the joint, I reached for my trusty MAC box-ends that I've owned since the late 60's, and since I needed another wrench of the same size, I grabbed a much newer Craftsman Pro Box-end wrench.

I have to say that the Craftsman Pro box-ends are now my favorite wrenches. They feel much better than the MACs and provide a much better offset. I purchased the SAE and Metric Pros several years ago when they were on a rediculous sale; just to have good spares. Don't know about the rest of you guys, but the CM/Danaher Pro stuff is an absolute bargain -- I love these things. I wish they made an open-end set.

Somebody hold my beer.....
