Since I may not have a whole lot of time left (asked them to anticipate if growth rate remains the same, and new treatment doesn't work, ETA of my time left)...................

What are things you all are looking for?

Trying to figure out/find places for stuff to go to.  I originally had a former mechanic friend, who has dropped off the face of the planet and apparently gotten involved in drugs, who was supposed to end up with a fair amount and help me find a starting mechanic to pass along things to.
Looks like niece may be the starting one, and parents can have a big sale and sell a bunch, but am checking with different people I know, trying to make life simpler.

Boy mate, i`m sorry to see you in this place your in but i can understand what your doing.
Would help if you had a list efvern a rough one?

Damn -- That is heartbreaking my friend. I have found that a tool/equipment donation to a tech school or trade school is an option and is often tax deductible; not that it matters. Inner city schools often need even the basics and they don't have budgets to support their course offerings.

God bless!!

Very sad news. I was thinking along the same lines as Goodfellow. Find tech school or local 4h/FFA or shop class that could use a donation.

Heartbreaking is the only word to describe this. Donation is a very good choice for sure. To my knowledge few HS have auto repair programs anymore. You .
might call a few and check. The community colleges have auto repair programs I am fairly sure. Metropolitan Community Colleges in KCMO like Longview and Pen Valley would surely have programs. You might contact the guy running g their programs a d inquire about students in need? Beyond that, certainly in KC there would surely be auction companies you could call to come and remove everything then sell and give you the proceeds after they take their cut.

This is just so very bad. I feel awful about this!
Better hold onto something boys cause i'm fixin ta stand on it!

I am so sorry to hear this possibility. I really hope you can keep this stuff for a long time to come.

I am also beginning to think about my own mortality. I have been trying to dispose of 'stuff' so that my kids don't have to deal with it when I am gone.

I have told my daughters that they can have my tools, but I honestly don't think they would know what to do with them. Maybe they would.

My son is only interested in video games (he's nearly 40).

Sad news to hear. Hopefully you get better news. I would try to find a young guy or gal who is interested in wrenching. Im lucky that my son is interested in working on stuff and I plan on giving all of my stuff to him. But I have given some duplicates to a young feller that attend a church we went to, he was the youngest of 8 kids and liked to work on stuff. He always asked to barrow a wrench here and there, so I just give him a set I had collecting dust. The smile and thanks he gave me was worth a million bucks.

I, too, am looking forward and planning to disperse my tool collection. No kids, apprentice isn't doing mechanics, no young people I know wants them. Considering selling my contractor tools to people who work on my home (plumber, electrician, HVAC) or else having a estate sale company I'm friends with come in and selling my tools so the Mrs. doesn't have to deal with it.
